The 2013 Golden Globes nominations have been announced, with "Argo" (Chris Terrio) and "Zero Dark Thirty" (Mark Boal) earning nods for Best Original Screenplay.

Other films up for the honor: "Silver Lining's Playbook" (David O. Russell), "Django Unchained" (Quentin Tarantino) and "Lincoln" (Tony Kushner").

This (well, next) year's Golden Globes will take place on Sunday, Jan. 13. "30 Rock" and "Parks and Rec" showrunners Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are co-hosting the awards. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) organizes the awards -- an important distinction because that means these awards, unlike the Academy Awards, are voted on by members of the press. The Oscars are voted on by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, theoretically industry insiders. As such, the Golden Globes are thought to be the more fun, but less influential of the two major award shows.

Francesca Eastwood, Clint Eastwood's daughter, is this year's Miss Golden Globes.
