Best TV Show: Golden Globe Nominations Go To 'Homeland' And More For 2013

And The Big Golden Globe Nominees Are ...

The nominations for Best TV Show have been announced for the Golden Globes and "Homeland," "Modern Family," "Breaking Bad," "Girls" and "Downton Abbey" have all made the cut.

"Mad Men" and "30 Rock" were surprisingly omitted from the drama and comedy categories respectively.

Only in its second season, "Homeland" has already taken home several big awards. The Showtime series swept the 2012 Emmys in the drama categories, and Claire Danes took home the 2012 Golden Globe for her portrayal of Carrie Mathison.

Danes has become famous for her "Homeland" award speeches. The actress thanked her parents at the 2012 Globes, noting that she'd forgotten to do so when she took home an award for "My So-Called Life" in 1995. When she won an Emmy in September, Danes thanked her co-star with the words "Mandy Patinkin, holla."

Tune in for another possible Danes acceptance speech at the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sun., Jan. 13, 2013 at 5 p.m. PST/8 p.m. EST on NBC. The awards show, hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, will be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.
