Did Michael C. Hall Joke Reveal Detail Of 'Dexter' Finale?

With speculation swirling that the "Dexter" Season 7 finale might end with Dexter getting arrested, Michael C. Hall stopped by "Conan" Wednesday night and supplied some more fuel to the fire.

O'Brien asked Hall about how he'd like to see the series end, and Hall gave a half-joking response. But could it contain a kernel of truth about the direction the series is heading?

"I don't know. It'd be cool if he ... If he's gonna die, he should die funny. Like he represents himself in court, and he gets himself off, and he's walking down the courthouse steps and he gets hit by a bus," Hall quipped.

Hall was probably just spitballing ideas, but the part about Dexter getting arrested and going on trial sounds plausible. And then, "Seinfeld"-style, everyone he's ever killed could come back and testify against him. Except that they're chopped up into pieces at the bottom of the ocean, so who the heck knows what's going to happen.

The season finale of "Dexter" airs on Sunday, December 16 at 9 p.m. EST on Showtime.
