Any couple who has been married for decades will say that staying together is not easy, and that a successful marriage requires significant work. Melissa Chapman came on HuffPost Live to discuss with HuffPost Live host Abby Huntsman how marriage is real work, and what she does to maintain a healthy relationship.
"Marriage is like a muscle, you have to constantly work at it and massage it," she said.
Chapman said she wakes up every morning thinking of her husband as her best friend, and remembering that she wants to make him happy. She also asks herself, "What can he do to make me happy today?" She affirmed that strategy is still working, decades into their marriage.
Other guests in the conversation were Chris Aung-Thwin, Chris Illuminati, Lora Rossi, and Donna Antebi, author of "The Real Secrets Women Only Whisper".
