Santarchy 2012 In D.C. (PHOTOS)

LOOK: Santarchy Overtakes National Mall

WASHINGTON -- Who said Santa has anything to do with Christmas? Who said Santa has to be a commercial icon? The organizers of Santarchy are reinventing Santa.

According to its official site, Santarchy is, "a non-profit, non-political, non-religious and non-sensical celebration of holiday cheer, goodwill, and fun." Based on last weekend's photos, it appears that a non-profit, non-political, non-religious and non-sensical celebration took place.

Men and women, boys and girls, donned their finest red suits and enjoyed brunch at local restaurants, rode the Carousal on the National Mall and posed for holiday card photos for confused and happy passersby.

Take a look!
