Common Law Marriage: How Facebook Can Help (VIDEO)

How Facebook Can Help Your Common Law Marriage

Could you be in a common law marriage without knowing it? This is a serious legal situation that could bring you many rights and privileges you may not know you had. Michele O'Neil, founding partner of O'Neil & Attorneys Family Law, spoke with HuffPost Live host Nancy Redd about the possibility of your Facebook relationship status helping to legally establish a "common law" marriage or being used in court as evidence to do so.

"I could have a common law marriage case come in my door tomorrow, because here on Facebook they've designated each other as husband and wife, and I think that's definitely something we could use in a court of law as proof," O'Neil said.

Also joining the discussion were Kelly Phillips Erb, tax lawyer, and Dr. Erin Kuntze, clinical psychologist.
