A word to the wise: Don't plan to do your holiday shopping Christmas morning.

Despite the fact that more retailers than ever opened up shop on Thanksgiving Day this year, most stores will be closed on Christmas.

Walmart, Target, Kmart, and Costco will be open on Christmas Eve, though many will close earlier than usual. Pharmacies like Walgreens and CVS will be open for limited hours on Christmas Day.

Denny's, IHOP and Starbucks will be open on Christmas Day at most locations. For a full list of restaurants that are open on Christmas, click here.
