A Florida mother was arrested last week after allegedly threatening to blow up her daughter's elementary school.

On Thursday, Jessica Schauer, 26, was on the premises of Pinecrest Elementary when she allegedly made the statement, "Don't bring your kid to school that day" to an unidentified witness, according to a release from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. Two witnesses told deputies that when Schauer was asked what day she meant, she responded, "The day I blow it up."

The next day, one of the witnesses reported the statement to the principal, who contacted police. Schauer was arrested at her home at around 11 p.m. Friday and charged with threatening to discharge a destructive device.

Her bond was set at $7,500, according to ABC.

In the days following the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. that left 20 children and six school officials dead, multiple arrests have been made over threats to schools nationwide.

Less than a week after the massacre, a man allegedly entered a Virginia school -- also called Sandy Hook Elementary -- carrying a 2x4 board with the words "High-Powered Rifle" written on it in marker. Police say the 33-year-old claimed to be sending a message "related to school safety."

Days later, a Florida teenager was arrested after allegedly posting a Facebook message in which he threatened to "bring a gun to school tomorrow and shoot everyone."
