12/27/2012 08:47 am ET | Updated Dec 27, 2012

Celebrations are always a little more exciting when there's confetti involved. Which is why this New Year's Eve craft idea from Homework will be a great addition to your party. And these party favors are so inexpensive to make, you can easily throw them together for all of your guests.

By covering matchboxes in pretty paper, you can create mini boxes that are the perfect size for confetti. You can either buy confetti at the party store or save a ton of money by going the DIY-route and creating your own with colored paper scraps and a hole punch. That way, you won't feel like you were wasteful when you just vacuum it all up in the morning.
