Charlie Jackson, Jason Cobb Missing After Being Ejected From Bachelor Party; Officials Searching Gator-infested Waters (VIDEO)

Search For Missing Adults Leads To Gator-infested Waters

Authorities in central Florida are searching for two men who disappeared Saturday after taking their fishing boat out on a lake known to be infested with alligators.

Officials said Charlie Jackson, 26, and Jason Cobb, 30, were last seen around Saturday morning near a marina on Lake Jesup.

The boat was less than one mile north of the fish camp with the keys still in the ignition but only two life jackets, two paddles, eight unopened beer cans and one partly empty can of beer were found aboard, the Orlando Sentinel reports.

"It doesn't look real good for them," Jackson's father, Bill Jackson, 55, said, according to the New York Daily News. "I'm just facing reality."

Family members said Jackson and Cobb had gone to a bachelor party on Friday night and set out onto the lake just after midnight Saturday, the Associated Press reports.

Lake Jesup is known for its gators, but there is some reason for hope.

Lieutenant Jeff Hudson of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission doubts the men were attacked by the creatures because cold temperatures sends them into underwater caves to stay warm.

Gators also go into a hibernation-like state during winter and don't eat or hunt as much, the Daily Mail reports.
