Demi Lovato had a big year in 2012: the pop singer released "Give Your Heart A Break" -- which became her biggest radio hit -- and she starred on "The X Factor USA" as a judge alongside Simon Cowell and Britney Spears. Considering that just 2 years ago the young singer was in rehab battling a bipolar disorder, bulimia and substance abuse, Demi's very-public recovery has been nothing short of inspirational.

On Monday night, Demi took to Twitter to reflect on how far she's come.

She also encouraged her young fans to make smart and healthy decisions as they celebrated New Year's Eve.
