'Good Kush & Alcohol (B-tches Love Me)': Lil Wayne's Sleepy Track With Drake & Future (AUDIO, POLL)

Is Lil Wayne Still Trying?

Lil Wayne has a new-ish single out, and it's a bit of a head-scratcher. "Good Kush & Alcohol (Bitches Love Me)," a Mike Will-produced sleeper track much in the vein of Juicy J's "Bands A Make Her Dance," Rihanna's "Pour It Up" and every Future song.

While the beat is certainly familiar and serviceable, Wayne's verses come off as a bit lazy. Consider the following lyrics:

"And all she eat is d--k / She's on a strict diet, that's my baby"

"She said 'Cause I really need somebody /So tell me you're that somebody'"

"She wake up, eat this d--k, call that breakfast in bed"

"Now kiss my ass if you hating / I'm getting ass, I'm skating"

Wayne's never been known for his philosophy, but there was an energetic irreverence to his earlier work. His "Dedication 4" mixtape flopped miserably, and this lead single for "I Am Not A Human Being Part II" (does anyone remember Part I?) doesn't exactly bode well.

The Young Money rapper's insistence on promoting his fledgling TRUKFIT clothing line and skating career have repeatedly earned him the scorn of fellow rappers like Pusha-T, Ludacris and Swizz Beats (check out Pusha's verse on "What They Mad For," which includes the following diss: "N---as saying you was better when the drugs was in your system / Now your crack swag gone ever since you came from prison").

Which brings us to our grand question. Has Lil Wayne lost his luster? Vote in the poll below and check out what veteran hip-hop journalist Elliott Wilson has to say in the video that follows. Listen to "Good Kush & Alcohol" above.
