The Producers Guild of America has nominated "Argo," "Lincoln," "Zero Dark Thirty" and "Les Miserables" among other films for best feature of 2012.

"Django Unchained," "Life Of Pi," "Silver Linings Playbook," "Moonrise Kingdom," "Beasts of the Southern Wild" and "Skyfall" also made the PGA cut.

The PGA awards are a significant Oscar precursor: The last five films to win a PGA award have also taken home the Best Picture trophy at the Academy Awards.

Most Oscar prognosticators had figured "Argo," "Lincoln," "Zero Dark Thirty," "Les Miserables," "Django Unchained," "Life of Pi," "Silver Linings Playbook," "Beasts of the Southern Wild" and "Moonrise Kingdom" for PGA nominations. "Skyfall," the most successful James Bond film ever, is not necessarily thought of as "Oscar fare," but the film did receive strong support from the Screen Actors Guild, which nominated Javier Bardem. It's not outside the realm of possibility that "Skyfall" could sneak in the Best Picture conversation when the Academy Award nominations are announced on Jan. 10.

Snubbed by the PGA in the Best Picture category? "The Master," "Flight," "Amour," "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" and "The Dark Knight Rises."
