Paul Eggers Greene Proclaims Himself 'Jesus,' Allegedly Bites Florida Cop

Man Claims He Is Jesus, Allegedly Bites Cop

Jesus saves, but a Florida man who proclaimed himself to be the King of Kings prefers to bite -- cops, to be exact.

The make-believe messiah is actually Paul Eggers Greene, arrested early Monday morning by deputies in Charlotte County, Fla., according to a police report.

Police arrived on the scene to find Greene, 18, in the street wearing only his shorts and socks, jumping up and down, screaming, yelling, and waving his arms.

When questioned, Greene yelled that he was Jesus and everyone was coming to get him.

When one deputy approached Greene, the suspect allegedly ran towards the officer aggressively while flailing his arms. Although Greene stopped when ordered to do so, he was Tased by the officer. Authorities suspected he might be intoxicated.

Moments later, the would-be Jesus rushed at the cop once again, waving his arms and legs while attempting to hit the lawman before biting him instead, the Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.

Despite repeated efforts from officials to get Greene to release his bite, including an additional tasing, the suspect managed to keep his choppers gripped on the officer's leg. Greene was Tased a third and final time when he fought back when deputies tried to obtain his wallet, News-press.com reported.

Greene was transported to Peace River Regional Medical Center and kept overnight, where the violent outbursts continued, according to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.

Greene was released later and taken to the Charlotte County Jail where he was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, assault on a law enforcement officer, Resisting Arrest with Violence and Disorderly Intoxication.

The deputy was treated for the bite wound and released.
