"The Big Bang Theory" has outdone itself.

The ratings are in for the CBS comedy's first episode of 2013 and the series brought in its biggest audience ever: 19 million total viewers tuned in. "The Big Bang Theory" also matched its best ever rating in the adults 18-49 demographic with a 6.0 rating.

"The Big Bang Theory," which follows four geeky technology institute workers and their love interests, beat out its previous series record of 17.6 million viewers in November.

The January 3rd episode that set the new series rating record saw Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and co. get in trouble with human resources, which led to a guest appearance from Regina King.
