Packers vs. Vikings LIVE Updates: Wild Card Playoff Game Features Adrian Peterson, Aaron Rodgers

LIVE: Vikings vs. Packers

Can Adrian Peterson play quarterback?

When it was revealed that starting signal caller Christian Ponder would be inactive due to an elbow injury, Vikings fans wondered (and tweeted) if "All Day" Peterson could handle the ball on all offensive plays. In place of Ponder, the Vikings will start Joe Webb, a dynamic, dual-threat player who has not attempted a pass all season long. In his third year out of Alabama-Birmingham, Webb saw game action just once this season, rushing once for -1 yard.

Thankfully for the Vikings, Peterson's numbers are a bit more impressive, especially against the Packers. Peterson racked up a staggering 210 yards at Green Bay in the teams' first meeting of the season and then 199 in Week 17.

Unlike that Week 17 tilt, this rematch will take place at Lambeau, where Aaron Rodgers and the Packers went 7-1 during the regular season. Not only are the Packers hard to defeat at home this season, but they had been hard for the Vikings to beat anywhere up until last week. That Minnesota win snapped a five-game losing streak against their NFC North rivals.

Even before Ponder was deemed inactive, the 49ers and the oddsmakers both were favoring the Pack. The opening spread was Packers -8 and San Francisco had its scout team players wearing the numbers of prominent Green Bay players.

Can Peterson prove them wrong? Will Webb him do it? Or will Rodgers and company defend their home tundra?
