The Best Supporting Actor nominees include past winners Tommy Lee Jones and Alan Arkin.

Jones, who co-starred in "Lincoln" as Thaddeus Stevens, was expected to earn a nomination in the category. He previously won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role in "The Fugitive."

Arkin, also a past category winner (for "Little Miss Sunshine"), co-starred in "Argo" as a veteran Hollywood producer.

The two veterans were joined by fellow Oscar winners Robert De Niro ("Silver Linings Playbook"), Christoph Waltz ("Django Unchained") and Philip Seymour Hoffman ("The Master").

Last year, Christopher Plummer won Best Supporting Actor. He defeated Max Von Sydow, Jonah Hill, Nick Nolte and Kenneth Branagh for the honor.

The 85th annual Academy Awards will be handed out on Feb. 24. Seth MacFarlane will host.
