Now that "Dallas Buyers Club" has wrapped filming, Matthew McConaughey is gaining weight.
The actor, 43, who lost nearly 50 pounds from his 183 pound frame, is no longer starving himself to play real-life HIV patient Ron Woodroof. McConaughey stepped out for the New York Film Critics Circle Awards dinner in NYC last night (Jan. 7) -- he was honored for his roles in "Magic Mike" and "Bernie" -- and revealed that he's gained almost 25 pounds since shooting ended.
"I have less [physical] leverage, but my mind is way sharper," the new dad, who welcomed son Livingston with wife Camila Alves almost two weeks ago, told reporters on whether or not he missed his fit physique (via People). "You know, I love to wrestle. It's a good time to wrestle me now. I was 135 lbs., and now I'm up to 160 lbs, so I'm done with that and on my way back."
So what's the first thing he ate?
"A cheeseburger," he said. "That was it. I got the cheeseburger, and then I sat there for 25 minutes and doozied it up."
McConaughey's goal is to weigh in at 165, so he's just five pounds away!
