Chris Kluwe On 'The Colbert Report': Vikings Punter Talks Gay Marriage, Video Games (VIDEO)

Vikings Punter Defends Gay Marriage On Colbert Report

The Colbert Report

Minnesota Vikings punter and outspoken gay rights advocate Chris Kluwe visited the Colbert Report on Tuesday to talk about punting, gay marriage, gun control -- and of course -- video games.

Kluwe joined Colbert less than a week after the Vikings suffered a first-round playoff exit at the hands of the division rival Green Bay Packers. And although the professed hardcore gamer has plenty of time to talk about football, Kluwe spent most his appearance discussing other issues.

Among his exploits as a "professional surrender" -- or punter, in football terms -- Kluwe explains his advocacy for gay rights, including his open letter to a Maryland legislator who spoke out against the views of Ravens linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo.

"I firmly believe that people are people and deserve to be treated the same as everyone else," Kluwe told Colbert.
