The award for Best Actor in a Drama Series has gone to Damian Lewis.

Lewis received the honor for his portrayal of Nicholas Brody on Showtime's "Homeland." He beat out Steve Buscemi, Bryan Cranston, Jeff Daniels and Jon Hamm.

"I want to dedicate this to my Mum, who is up there somewhere looking down and bursting with pride," Lewis said in his touching acceptance speech.

Kelsey Grammer took award for Best Actor in a Drama Series last year for his performance in "Boss," a surprise win as Steve Buscemi was thought to be the frontrunner for "Boardwalk Empire." Starz announced that "Boss" would not be returning for a third season in November.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler host the 2013 Golden Globe Awards, which took place in Beverly Hills on Sunday, January 13 and were broadcast on NBC.
