Barbara Palvin On Her Role In Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez Breakup: 'It's Ridiculous'

Victoria's Secret model Barbara Palvin made headlines two months ago when she was romantically linked to Justin Bieber. Rumors spread that the Hungarian beauty started trouble between the pop singer and Selena Gomez, but Palvin claims such talk is "ridiculous."

Speculation swirled in November after Gomez retweeted a photo of Palvin and Bieber together at the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. “You know how the drama started — Selena retweeted the picture,” Palvin told Celebuzz on Saturday. “I’m okay to talk about it because I know there’s nothing. It’s ridiculous how this got to the news.” The VS Angel claims she and Bieber were just "hanging out" at the fashion show, but fans of Jelena "thought I caused a big drama, their break-up.”

“I wanted to meet him real bad,” she told Celebuzz “And then when I did at the [Victoria’s Secret] show we met and of course we had a conversation and then I took the picture with him.” Palvin admits she later went to see a Broadway show with the 18-year-old sensation and some friends, but that she is committed to her boyfriend back home in Hungary.

Shortly after the photo of Palvin and Bieber at the fashion show began circulating, Bieber and Gomez split up for the first time. After a New Year's Eve brawl, the Jelena broke up for good, according to Us Weekly.

The 19-year-old model, who said she has received death threats, insists she "doesn't know anything" about Bieber and Gomez's most recent split. “Yeah [we are officially just friends]," Palvin told Fashionista earlier this month. "Not close friends. We just did the show together, that’s it.”

However, the New York Post's Cindy Adams hinted early in January that Palvin may contributed to the Jelena breakup.

"Gossip is Selena thought Justin’s still seeing another senorita named Barbara," writes Adams. "She got miffed. She went to a party [in Mexico]. Told partygoers that, while arguing, he said things like: 'Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.' Selena’s mother told her on the phone: 'Don’t stay there. You’re alone. You have no security. Come home.' She did."
