A woman from Morelia, Mexico, gave birth Thursday to sextuplets 12 years after having quadruplets, Agencia Reforma reported.

Two of the sextuplets had died by midday Monday, Azteca Noticias reported. The condition of the others remains serious, according to Mi Morelia.

Salud Romero, 31, delivered four boys and two girls via an emergency cesarean section, spokesperson Atzimba Rosiles told Distrita.

Rosiles told the news outlet Romero conceived without the aid of fertility treatments.

Born just 27 weeks old and weighing 1.25 to 2 pounds each, the newborns had limited pulmonary function, the Spain-based wire service ABC wrote.

The mother, however, is reportedly OK physically.

Three of the quadruplets, whom Romero delivered 12 years ago, survived, Agencia Reforma wrote.

The sextuplets' father, Yosio Salinas Rodríguez, a 20-year-old dry-wall installer, said the couple were concerned about their financial situation, according to other outlets.

StarMedia, a Spanish-language news aggregator, reported that a donation program had been set up for the family.

Digna Carpio, of Queens, N.Y., is thought to have been the last woman to deliver sextuplets, and that happened in October 2008, the New York Daily News reported. The babies were just 25 weeks old when they were delivered by C-section. The family appeared on a TLC reality show that debuted in 2010.
