Unique Marriage Proposals: Man Pops The Question While Girlfriend Hang-Glides

A Sky-High Marriage Proposal

One Australian woman was literally floating in the clouds when her boyfriend popped the question.

While hang-gliding at a park on Saturday, Erin Richardson looked down at the beach below and saw her boyfriend, Shaun Duncan, holding a giant banner that said, "Erin will you marry me?" (Click here to see photos).

"I was up in the air and my instructor said, 'Is that your crew down there with a sign?,'" Richardson told local newspaper the Illawarra Mercury. "When I eventually saw what it said I was just crying and sobbing."

After Richardson landed on the beach, Duncan dropped to one knee and gave her a ring, amid cheers from friends and family who had accompanied them to the park. She said yes!

Why pop the question with your feet on the ground when you could propose high up in the sky? One man plowed his proposal into a field, then took his girlfriend up in a plane to see it (too bad it had a typo in it!). "Jersey Shore" star Jenni "JWoww" Farley got engaged while skydiving with boyfriend Roger Mathews. And believe it or not, mid-flight marriage proposals are pretty common.
