Best Visual Effects Oscar Nominee 'Marvel's The Avengers': Inside How ILM Made Mark Ruffalo's Hulk

Many thought "Marvel's The Avengers" included some of the best special effects of 2012, and now there's proof: Joss Whedon's blockbuster film was nominated in the Best Visual Effects category at the Academy Awards alongside "Prometheus," "Life of Pi," "Snow White and the Huntsman" and "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey."

From alien planets to New York City, "Marvel's The Avengers" was a universe-spanning adventure; the film's best trick, however, was turning star Mark Ruffalo into Hulk. That job fell at the feet of Industrial Light and Magic, and the ILM effects wizards were more than up to the task. In this exclusive new behind-the-scenes video, ILM shows how it used motion-capture to create Hulk, and paid special attention to the little things. Like his chest hair.
