Nathaniel Chambers Arrested After Seeking Flu Treatment At West Haven, Connecticut, Hospital

Assault Suspect Busted While Seeking Flu Shot

Nathaniel Chambers is feeling a little under the weather.

The 27-year-old Connecticut man was busted one week after allegedly committing a violent assault and robbery at an auto shop, when he visited Veterans Hospital in West Haven for a flu shot.

"Once staff learned he was wanted on our arrest warrant, the VA police held him until he was medically released at 1 p.m. today," South Windsor Police Sgt. Scott Custer said in an e-mail to Patch.

Chambers is one of two suspects accused of assaulting Robert Lareau, 28, owner of Forced Induction Motor Sports in South Windsor, and Ryan Kelleher, 21, an employee of the auto shop.

On Jan. 8, Lareau and Kelleher were found suffering from head and facial wounds, NBC Connecticut reports.

While Chambers, charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and conspiracy to commit assault, may be responsible for the alleged crime, you can't blame him for seeking a flu shot. Issues surrounding flu vaccine shortages have been reported across the country during this year's particularly bad flu season.
