Bacon Taco Shell To Be Served For Limited Time At PYT In Philadelphia

Restaurant Unveils Bacon Taco Shell

If you thought tacos couldn't be wrapped in anything saltier, fattier and less healthy than Doritos, you were wrong. They can be wrapped in bacon.

The all-bacon taco shell has been a thing of myth and legend on food blogs for some time, at least as far back as the beginning of 2009. But now one brave fast food restaurant -- PYT in Philadelphia -- has decided to go ahead and start selling tacos wrapped in bacon shells to the innocent public.

According to PYT's Facebook page, the tacos are filled with "a taco seasoned beef burger, shredded cheddar & pepper jack cheese, shredded lettuce, fresh pico de gallo and an avocado & cilantro ranch sauce." They're available only for a limited time, and in very limited quantities: PYT has vowed to make just 20 of these bad boys a day. Probably for the best!

That said, if you do find yourself at PYT in a gluttonous mood, and discover that it's out of bacon taco shells, there's no need to fret. The restaurant bills itself as the "Home of America's Craaaziest Burgers," so you have plenty of wild options. Before the bacon-shell taco, PYT featured specials such monstrosities as a Christmas Dinner Burger, made of "Buttermilk-fried turkey leg patty topped with spinach, house-made goat cheese & sage mashed sweet potatoes, red wine sauce and crumbled sugar-plum mix," on its menu.
