AAA has added nine hotels and four restaurants to its prestigious Five Diamond list.

The 77th AAA/CAA Five Diamond Award list was released Friday, and is graced by 125 hotels and 53 restaurants throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. These establishments represent just 0.3 percent of the 59,000 AAA/CAA Approved and Diamond Rated hotels and restaurants.

“AAA Five Diamond hotels offer guests a meticulous degree of personalized attention and extensive amenities in a luxurious setting, and Five Diamond restaurants feature world-class service and imaginative menus using the finest ingredients,” Michael Petrone, director, AAA Tourism Information Development, said in a press release.

Notably on the list are the only Five Diamond hotels in Puerto Rico and Nevis, as well as the only hotel and restaurant combination: The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island and its restaurant Salt. Noticeably absent from the list is West Virginia's The Greenbrier, which did not receive the prestigious rating after a 36-year run, reports the Associated Press.

The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo., on the other hand, is the only hotel that has maintained the Five Diamond Rating since the Diamond Ratings system was introduced in 1976.
