Bing, Patterson Spar Over Emergency Manager Value

Patterson: Detroit Needs To Stop 'Stonewalling' On EM

Detroit — The city's cash crisis took center stage Thursday at a summit of Metro Detroit's top elected officials, with Mayor Dave Bing and Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson squaring off over the benefits of an emergency financial manager.

Bing reiterated that he's against an emergency financial manager for Detroit and said city leaders can fix the fiscal crisis on their own, while Patterson said Detroit needs to stop "stonewalling" and accept outside help.
