As Kris Humphries drags out his divorce from Kim Kardashian, he's back in court for another reason.
RadarOnline reports that the Brooklyn Nets forward is planning on suing Kayla Goldberg, the woman who claimed he gave her herpes, for defamation and libel.
Goldberg filed a sexual battery lawsuit against the 27-year-old basketball player in August 2012, claiming she had unprotected sex with the athlete and a week later was diagnosed with herpes. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, she alleged that Humphries knew he had herpes when they were intimate and didn't tell her.
Goldberg was suing for an unspecified amount and during a status hearing in Los Angeles on Jan. 17, the athlete's lawyer told the judge his client denies having herpes and will be filing a counterclaim against the plaintiff, and maintains she filed the lawsuit to make money off of him.
According to the website, Goldberg wants the judge to order Humphries to take a blood test to prove he doesn't have the herpes virus as he claims.
No doubt this lawsuit is embarrassing for Humphries, and to make things worse, he managed to be the butt of the Kardashians' jokes once again. On Wednesday, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian paid a visit to "Late Night with David Letterman," where Kourtney said what we've been thinking all along.
The eldest Kardashian explained to Letterman that there's no way Kim could have "frauded" Humphries, because "if she was going to do it for publicity, she'd do it with someone people knew."
Touché, Kourtney. Touché.
