Vintage Furniture Gets A Makeover With This Simple DIY Idea (PHOTOS)

Get ready to see the "after."

It always feels good when you find a great vintage piece that’s not only practical but also really cool. And it’s even better when you come up with a DIY idea that can take a worn item that has seen better days and bring it back to life, which is exactly what Cristina Frank from Eve of Reduction did when she bought a neglected 1960s folding card table and matching chairs.

Frank had purchased the set for a mere $20 and though the structure of the furniture was solid, it was pretty obvious it had some wear and tear. And table's top and seats were covered in avocado vinyl that just wouldn’t go with anything. So Frank got crafty and painted the wood and then laminated funky fabric onto the pieces. This made them gorgeous and clean while still keeping their original retro style.

We love this idea because Frank took a vintage find that looked pretty drab and saw the potential, turning one person’s trash into another’s treasure. To see how Frank completed this amazing transformation head over to her blog, Eve of Reduction.
