Baileigh Karam Reunited With Parents Days After Video Of Fight Posted To Facebook

Missing Teen Beat Up In Facebook Video Emerges From Hiding

A bullied teen who disappeared after California classmates posted a video to Facebook of her losing a fight has been found safe.

Baileigh Karam was missing for a week, but rejoined her parents on Friday after spending about a week with friends, KGTV reported.

Cellphone recordings showed Karam, 14, getting hit repeatedly by another girl in Carlsbad High School on Jan. 11. Classmates cheer as Karam begs her attacker to stop the beating. The fight allegedly was caused by a rivalry for a boy, ABC News said.

Karam vanished that day, although she exchanged text messages with her mother that said she wanted to be alone, KFMB reported.

Her mother said she'd warned the school that her daughter had been bullied.

Family members said that Karam is talking to counselors about what happened.

Concern among the general public for Karam prompted the school to announce that she'd been found. A note on the school's website thanked local police and others for helping locate her.
