Cameron Douglas Allegedly Fails Drug Test In Prison, Sent To Solitary Confinement (Report)

Michael Douglas' Embattled Son Fails Drug Test In Prison

Cameron Douglas' problems continue to mount.

Michael Douglas' embattled son, who is currently serving a nine-and-a-half year prison sentence for drug-related charges, was allegedly found with "drugs in his system" earlier this month.

The New York Post, quoting a "prison insider," reported that the 34-year-old, who is serving his sentence at a federal prison in Pennsylvania, "failed a urinalysis" in the first week of January and was "immediately sent to solitary confinement." It is unclear as to whether Douglas will be slapped with more jail time for the violation.

As RadarOnline notes, Douglas was sentenced to five years in prison for both possessing and selling drugs, including methamphetamine and heroin, in 2010. He was later given more jail time after he pleaded guilty to smuggling drugs into prison. He is not eligible for parole until 2018.

Douglas -- who has reportedly "gone gangster" behind bars, beefing up physically and getting prison tattoos -- has been plagued with difficulty in recent months.

In December, The Huffington Post reported that Douglas was recovering from a broken leg and finger, after a New York crime boss reportedly put a $100 bounty on his head for being a "rat."

Despite his son's spate of troubles, Michael Douglas has stuck by his side. As RadarOnline noted in an earlier report, the "Wall Street" star regularly made the trip to visit his son in prison even as he battled cancer.

In December, the Oscar-winning actor and producer appeared in a Manhattan court on behalf of his son. According to NY Daily News, the younger Douglas is seeking to cut time off his prison sentence.
