George Takei To Visit 'The Neighbors' And More Casting News

George Takei is apparently still seeking out "strange new worlds," only this time, he'll be boldly coming back to earth as an alien on ABC's "The Neighbors."

Takei will play the father of Simon Templeman's character, Larry Bird, who comes to earth with "a big announcement," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The "Star Trek" veteran has also made recent appearances on "The New Normal" and "Hawaii Five-0."

In other casting news ...

"My Name is Earl" alums visit "Raising Hope." Jason Lee, Jaime Pressly, Ethan Suplee, Nadine Velazquez and Abdoulaye N’Gom will stop by the Fox comedy for the episode "Making the Band" on Feb. 26. Lee, Pressly and Suplee will reprise their Season 1 roles as aging rocker Smokey Floyd, and Burt and Virginia’s crazy neighbors Donna and Andrew, respectively. [TV Line]

Terry Crews to co-star in Fox's Andy Samberg pilot. The "Newsroom" and "Expendables" star will play the Sergeant in charge of a diverse group of detectives (thus making him Samberg's character's boss) in the single-camera comedy. [Deadline]

"Easy A" actress joins Michael J. Fox's NBC comedy. Juliette Goglia will play Fox's character's middle child, who is described as "whip smart but not book smart and likes to game the system." [THR]

Bebe Neuwirth to star in Amazon's new comedy pilot, "Browsers." The series, described as a "musical comedy," centers around four young adults who get their first ever jobs at a news website. The "Frasier" star will be playing their boss. [Deadline]
