Giant Lemon Grown In California Backyard Stuns Neighbor (PHOTOS)

Posted: Updated:

Well it's evident that one California home isn't feeling the effects of the recent cold snap that's led to widespread citrus damage.

Reddit user zayre uploaded a photo of a giant lemon that he plucked from his neighbor's garden. From the looks of it, the citrus is about three times the normal size that you'd find at any grocery store.

Though he didn't give specific measurements, other users have pointed out that this may be a Ponderosa, a hybrid of a lemon and a citron, which tend to grow between two and four pounds. However, StayAtHomeSci wrote that this particular fruit looks too big even to be a Ponderosa.

Either way, we'd like to know what kind of fertilizer his neighbor uses and we suggest they let the rest of the state in on the secret. California has faced major damage to citrus crops due to freezing temperatures, which could potentially result in a shortage.
