Dominic Monaghan may have touched viewers' hearts with his turn as Charlie on "Lost," but he's put on a decidedly different hat for his latest television venture. Imported from across the pond, "Wild Things with Dominic Monaghan" sees the star deftly making the transition to host of a nature series, not unlike Steve Irwin.
Dominic shares a genuine passion for the wild animals he's sharing with his television audience, as well as a love and respect for the natural world. And he's clearly not afraid to face mortal danger, either, as evidenced by his latest foray.
In Vietnam, Dominic and his team visited the monocled cobra, a venomous snake that averages more than four-feet in length. Dominic explained that if bitten by this snake, you have about thirty minutes to get to a hospital or face near-certain death. Even worse, he said, "They're not in any way intimidated by humans."
This was proven when the snake they were filming took a lunge at Dominic. It was a rush and risk Dominic took on gladly. He told Zap2It it was worth it to show off the beauty, and danger, of these amazing animals.
Check out new finds each week on "Wild Things with Dominic Monaghan," Tuesdays at 10 p.m. EST on BBC America.
