'American Idol': 'Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air' Theme Song Propels One Contestant To Hollywood (VIDEO)

'Fresh Prince' Theme Propels 'Idol' Contestant To Hollywood

As usual, "American Idol" wrapped the Charlotte auditions with a touching story and a beautiful voice. This time, the voice belonged to 26-year-old Seretha Guinn. She brought her beautiful 3-year-old daughter in with her to the audition. The tot was a huge fan of Nicki Minaj, though too shy to do much more than nod her agreement.

Guinn was there in secret, hoping to bring home some good news to her boyfriend, who almost died in a terrible accident. Since then, he's gone through eight surgeries and was still recovering at home. She wanted to cheer him up with the surprise of her moving on to Hollywood. To get there, she tapped into the world of sitcom theme songs.

Seretha's take on "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" theme song left the judges shocked and impressed. She followed it up with LeAnn Rimes' "How Do I Live," But Mariah Carey said she'd preferred Seretha's stab at the "Fresh Prince." Either way, it was unanimous support for the mother and her daughter, as she went off to share the good news -- and a golden ticket to Hollywood -- with her boyfriend.

The audition rounds of "American Idol" keep moving across the country, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.
