Coronation Festival To Feature Royal Family's Outfits (PHOTOS)

Omg, those tiny shoes!

We can't bear the thought that there are no British royal weddings or tours on the horizon in 2013. But Buckingham Palace must have heard our sighs of disappointment across the pond, because it's staging what promises to be the biggest, most fashion-filled royal event of the summer. Hooray!

Come July, Buckingham Palace will celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's coronation with a four-day Coronation Festival. At the center of the festival will be an exhibit featuring the royal family's outfits worn at the 1953 coronation, including the queen's robe and jewelry and Prince Charles and Princess Anne's adorably tiny kiddie outfits (at the time, they were only four and two years old, respectively).

"[The exhibit] will be centered on the wonderful dresses, uniforms outfits, robes worn by the principal members of the Royal Family," the exhibit's curator, Caroline de Guitant, told the Telegraph. That includes the cream-colored silk shirt and wool trousers worn by tiny Prince Charles, and the cream silk and lace dress -- with matching toddler ballet flats! -- worn by Princess Anne.

But the crown jewel -- heh -- of the presentation will no doubt be Her Majesty's original 21-foot-long Norman Hartnell robe, which is so awesome it has its own Wikipedia page.

Headed to London this summer? You're in luck: the exhibition will run from July 27 until September 29 at Buckingham Palace.

Say cheerio to Her Majesty for us! In the meantime, sneak a peek at Charles' and Anne's outfits below, which admittedly look a little ghostly propped up like that.
