Pizza Hut Super Bowl Giveaway: New Mystery Product To Be Revealed During Game Day

Pizza Hut To Offer New Mystery Product For Free

Pizza Hut's Super Bowl ad, which was posted online several weeks ago, has already been hailed as one of the top 10 -- and the game hasn't even happened yet. The spot shows various non-professional quarterbacks (think little girls, neighborhood buddies, etc.) shouting "Hut! Hut! Hut!" against some inspirational music. It is a feel good-fest, but doesn't come off as cheesy.

To further capitalize on the word "hut," Pizza Hut has announced that it will give something away for free from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5 if the word "hut" is said during the Super Bowl. The company is banking on the fact that the word will be uttered -- it is the most common word in football, spoken about 90 times per game, according to Stats, Inc.

"Simply wait for that magic word to be said during the game and we’ll activate the giveaway across each one of our 6,200-plus restaurants nationwide," explains Kurt Kane, CMO of Pizza Hut, in a release.

Pizza Hut is staying mum on what exactly it'll be giving away, other than admitting that it's a new product, however. America will just have to wait until the day of the game.

Meanwhile, Pizza Hut is busy readying the approximately two million pizzas and five million wings that it will likely sell during the Super Bowl. To give you some perspective, that would be enough for everyone who attends the game in person to eat 27 pizzas and 67.5 chicken wings. In contrast, Domino's expects to sell 11 million slices and 2.5 million chicken wings.
