On July 15, 1988, John McClane yipee-ki-yay'd into the hearts of action-movie lovers around the world. In the 25 years since the initial release of "Die Hard," the film has spawned four sequels (including the upcoming "A Good Day to Die Hard"), countless imitators (see the recent trailer for "Olympus Has Fallen"), and, now, one new anniversary Blu-ray set.
To celebrate 25 years of "Die Hard" -- as well as the upcoming sequel -- Twentieth Century Fox has release the franchise on Blu-ray. The new set includes a rash of special features, including one called "Modern-Day Hero -- Casting, evolution and legacy of John McClane."
HuffPost Entertainment is happy to debut a clip from that segment, which details why Bruce Willis' portrayal of the unlucky New York City cop has been so influential to the creation of the modern action hero.
The Blu-ray package is out now.
