William Scott Fowler was arrested on Friday for allegedly posing as the bodyguard to South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R), Patch reported on Monday.

Authorities pursued an investigation after Fowler allegedly identified himself as a licensed private investigator and posed as an agent for the governor's Security Task Force, Patch reports. Fowler was arrested and charged with impersonating a police officer and soliciting business as a private investigator, according to WBTW.

This is just one incident in a string of recent security complications for Haley. In December 2012, a woman was arrested after making a threatening remark at a school event the South Carolina governor attended. Haley assumed blame in November for a severe security breech that syphoned sensitive information from South Carolinians.

Haley recently made some big moves in state government by proposing changes to the state Budget and Control Board. Haley teamed up with a former Democratic rival, state Sen. Vincent Sheheen (D), for the decision, The State reports.
