From Pig Vomit to The Rhino.

According to THR, Paul Giamatti is negotiating to play Spider-Man villain The Rhino in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2." Giamatti -- who has starred in dozens of movies, including the aforementioned "Private Parts" ("He looks like a pig and makes you want to vomit; pig vomit") -- would join Jamie Foxx, who was previously cast as Electro, as the evildoers in Peter Parker's way in the "Amazing Spider-Man" sequel.

From the Wikipedia entry for The Rhino, a.k.a. Aleksei Mikhailovich Sytsevich:

Described by writer Mike Conroy as "Famously one of Spider-Man's dimmest villains", the character debuted in 'Amazing Spider-Man' #41 - 43 (Oct. - Dec. 1966) as a thug for hire working for an Eastern Bloc country. He volunteered to participate in an experiment that bonded a super strong polymer to his skin, thus augmenting his strength and speed, resulting in the Rhino alias.

Giamatti has long been a fan of The Rhino. In a 2011 interview with Collider, Giamatti told Ron Messer that the villainous henchman was his favorite "Spider-Man" heavy.

"I thought it was the greatest thing when I was a little kid," Giamatti said. "It was a guy who was basically in this rhinoceros outfit and I always thought, why don't they have The Rhino in one of their movies, but maybe The Rhino wasn’t that big of a deal for anybody but me! [Laughing] If they ever go with The Rhino, The Rhino would be great."

"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is director Marc Webb's follow-up to "The Amazing Spider-Man." That film grossed over $750 million worldwide. The sequel will be even bigger -- at least onscreen. In addition to the villains played by Foxx and Giamatti, "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" cast also includes Dane DeHaan (as Harry Osborn), Shailene Woodley (as Mary Jane Watson), Emma Stone (as Gwen Stacy) and Andrew Garfield (as your friendly neighborhood spider-man).
