The law was not on the side of television cop Carmine Giovinazzo.
Giovinazzo, who stars in "CSI: NY" as Detective Danny Messer, was arrested for DUI in Scottsdale, Ariz., last week, according to TMZ. The 39-year-old was reportedly seen driving erratically on the road around 2:40 a.m. on Jan. 21. When cops pulled him over he had bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol.
The "CSI: NY" actor admitted he had been drinking at the W Hotel, according to E! News. A field sobriety test revealed he had a blood alcohol content level of .119. The state's legal limit is .08.
He was "immediately apologetic and told [officers] he had been driving erratic because he was lost and using the GPS," an officer told TMZ. "[Carmine] thanked me many times for not treating him like a criminal and showing him respect."
After the DUI arrest, Giovinazzo was issued a citation and released from jail around 4:30 a.m., reports E! News.
Giovinazzo starred in "CSI: NY" since the show premiered in 2004. In August, he and actress Vanessa Marcil got divorced after two years of marriage.
