In the past year alone, Ed Sheeran has risen from a relatively unknown British singer-songwriter to a Grammy-nominated, chart-topping pop star about to embark on a sold-out U.S. tour. After playing a headlining show at Radio City Music Hall this week, Ed stopped by the "TODAY" Show to chat about his swift rise to fame and give an exclusive performance of "Lego House."

The singer tweeted excitedly about his trip to New York City this week, and as usual, shared a photo from onstage during his Radio City show on Wednesday night.

The next morning, Sheeran spoke with "TODAY" Show host Matt Lauer about his big break into the U.S. music scene.

"It's a bit insane to be instantly accepted by the American music community," Sheeran told Lauer. "That's like a stamp of approval to get to go there, let alone to perform and be nominated, so yeah, I'm looking forward to the whole thing."

Sheeran also said he's looking forward to his Grammy performance with Elton John, who he used to listen to with his dad on the way to school in the morning.
