Ah, Valentine's Day. Whether you love it or hate it, it's an inevitability. February 14 is going to happen.
Every hotel imaginable, it seems, has a package to hawk for the holiday. The most ridiculous packages are, of course, the ones that caught our eyes. From a private boudoir photo session -- offered by not one, but two hotels -- to the opportunity to attach your own personal love lock to Paris' famed Pont des Arts, here are the 15 of the most over-the-top Valentine's Day packages around the world.
The Warwick Hotel, NYC
For those looking for the insanely priced offerings, check out the Warwick New York Hotel’s <em>$21,400</em> <a href="http://www.warwickhotelny.com/special-pkg/hearst-style-package.aspx">Big Heart, William Randolph Hearst-Style</a> package. Available throughout the month of February, the package includes a two-night stay in an "On the Avenue" suite (which looks out over 6th Avenue) decorated with the couple's favorite (read: her fave) flowers; a personal photographer to follow you around to record your visit; a chauffeured limo; an in-room couple's massage; in-room dining (one dinner and breakfast daily); a welcome bottle of Cristal with monogrammed flutes; late check-out; and oh, yea, a $10,000 gift card to Cartier.
Cheeca Lodge & Spa, Islamorada, FL
Islamorada's Cheeca Lodge & Spa has a two-night "Swept Off Your Feet" package, which includes a welcome valet service (to unpack your bags) and welcome champagne; breakfast in bed; a private beach cabana; a rose-petal infused bath; and a private dinner complete with a seafood tower. Ritz Carlton South Beach, Miami, FL
Romantics beware! You must book the "To 'Di' For" package at the Ritz Carlton South Beach by January 31 to take advantage of the $4,954 per night deal. The package doesn't just have a cutesy name, however, it means business. Guests will stay in an Ocean View Suite as well as receive a diamond-infused facial and an 18K white gold and diamond ‘Love Knot’ ring with a total of 1.02 carat round pave diamonds by Coralie (courtesy of Miami-based Duchamp Jewelers) to go with it. Diamonds are forever.
Pavilion de la Reine, Paris, France
Everyone loves to add a padlock to Paris' famed <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/06/ponts-des-arts-love-padlocks-paris_n_2417182.html">Pont des Arts</a>. Naturally, the <a href="http://www.pavillon-de-la-reine.com/uk/index.php">Pavillon de la Reine</a> has come up with the “Be My Valentine” package just in time. Partaking guests receive a padlock and a key to attach to the famous bridge, a glass of Champagne upon arrival and, oh yea, a map of the best places to kiss around town (yuck alert!). The package starts at $560 per night for a superior room.
Parrot Cay, Providenciales, Turks & Caicos
<a href="http://www.comohotels.com/parrotcay/parrot-cay-como-turks-caicos">Parrot Cay by COMO </a>offers guests a three-night romance package (starting at $5,876 per couple) that includes a candlelit dinner, an hour-long couple's massage and butler service. To get extra fancy, if you book one of the hotel's private beach houses or villas, you can partake in one of six excursions offered by the hotel.
JW Marriott, Miami, Florida
Couples booking the “Miami Elements of Engagement” package will enjoy one night at the JW Marriott Hotel Miami’s Vice Presidential Suite, featuring a bottle of Dom Perignon champagne and gourmet chocolate covered strawberries upon arrival, plus two champagne flutes by Swarovski. The couple also will enjoy breakfast in the comfort of their suite the following morning and a late check-out time of 3:00 p.m. Pricing for the “Miami Elements of Engagement” package begins at $6,999 and is based on availability. Reservations are required at least 14 days in advance.
Conrad New York, NY
Conrad New York’s insanely over-the-top "<a href="http://www.conradnewyork.com/specials-and-packages/valentines-day-package/">Love is in the Air Valentine’s Day Package</a>" costs a whopping $1,799 per person and is only available this Valentine's Day. The package has some sweet inclusions, such as a private helicopter ride for two around Manhattan; a Superior Riverview Suite; dinner for two at the hotel's restaurant, Atrio; a specially-designed floral arrangement from Manhattan florist BLOOM; an in-room bottle of wine or champagne; and macarons from Payard.
Sugar Beach, St. Lucia
Guests at St. Lucia's <a href="http://www.viceroyhotelsandresorts.com/sugarbeach"> Sugar Beach</a> can take advantage of the famed resort's "romance package," complete with excursions such as a hike up Gros Piton and a trip to the world's only drive-in volcano, Sulphur Springs. Prices start at a whopping $2,967 per night.
Delano South Beach, Miami, Florida
Miami Beach's <a href="http://www.delano-hotel.com/en-us/"> Delano</a> might win the cake for most over-the-top package. Its $100,000 (yes, you read that right) "Carried Away" package includes a chauffeured Bentley for your use during a two-night stay in an ocean-front penthouse; a pair of Christian Louboutins; a private dinner at the hotel's <a href="http://www.delano-hotel.com/en-us/#/explore/?id=/delano-miami-bianca/">Bianca</a> restaurant; a private concert; private use of the pool between 8 p.m. and 12 a.m. (um, ok); and a personal fireworks display.
The Kimberly Hotel, New York, NY
The "<a href="http://kimberlyhotel.com/">As Suite as it Gets Weekend</a>" package begins and ends with a luxurious limousine ride to and from all major NYC airports. Guests will stay in a one-bedroom suite (complimented with a bottle of Dom and chocolates). Dinner will feature insanely expensive wines with views of the city; in the morning guests will get an in-room couple's massage. Upon leaving (and hopping back into that limo), guests get a plush bathrobe. The price? $2,995 per couple (available from February 12-15).
Naples Bay Resort, Naples, Florida
The "Only You" package at Florida's <a href="www.naplesbayresort.com">Naples Bay Resort & Spa</a> is not only a romantic riff on the song "Only You," but can be literally interpreted: Only <strong>one couple</strong> is able to book the $5,500 package. The two-night package includes transportation in a private limo to one of the hotel's one-bedroom suites; a personal hotel welcome with wine; access to the resort's private motor yacht (all to take you to a private sunset dinner); availability of a personal bath concierge to custom make a tub experience (natch); in-room breakfast; couple's massage; a choice of adventure, including skydiving, an Everglades airboat ride,or SCUBA diving; and dinner at the chef's table L'Orient.
Tower Club at the Iebua, Bangkok, Thailand
Bangkok's <a href="http://www.lebua.com/en/tower-club/">Tower Club at the Iebua</a> is offering an excessively lavish package available from Valentine's Day to the February 16. For $1,499 per couple, guests will receive a two-night stay in a Riverview Suite; an eight-course dinner at the world's highest al fresco restaurant, <a href="http://www.lebua.com/en/the-dome-dining/sirocco-restaurant/">Sirocco</a> (seen here); a 60-minute massage for two; airport transfer in a BMW 7 Series; late check out at 4 p.m.; a bottle of champagne and strawberries; and access to the Tower Club Lounge (which includes continental breakfast, a light lunch, high tea and unlimited beverages from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
Viceroy Anguilla, Anguilla
The Viceroy Anguilla is offering an "Art of the Getaway" package, which includes a daily $100 resort credit, daily use of a poolside cabana, a trip to Sandy's Island (an abandoned island 10 minutes by boat from the hotel,) a couple's massage, and, most importantly, a 976 -square-foot one bedroom suite that comes with a kitchenette, private plunge pool, king bed and outdoor balcony, among other over-the-top amenities. The package, available for Valentine's Day, starts at $6,200.
Hotel Max, Seattle, WA
Seattle boutique hotel Hotel Max has an overnight "<a href="www.hotelmaxseattle.com/risque">Risqué Business</a>" package complete with complimentary valet parking; a bottle of bubbly; locally-made chocolates; a private, in-room couple's photo session (with a professional boudoir photog) plus a keepsake photo disc; round-trip car service and two tickets to see The Atomic Bombshells: J'Adore! A Burlesque Valentine' and a 2 p.m. check-out. All that will set you back $439 per night.
Revere Hotel Boston Common, Boston, MA
Also getting in on the boudoir photographing game is the boutique Revere Hotel in Boston. The new hotel is offering "<a href="http://www.reverehotel.com/#valentines-day-2013/the-midnight-ride">The Midnight Ride</a>" to guests, which is a private 90-minute boudoir session complete with a photographer, makeup artist, and champagne, and a password-protected online gallery (we'd hope).
