So many people seem to fall victim to colds during the winter, so I asked Chief Medical Editor for NBC News Dr. Nancy Snyderman how to avoid getting sick when she joined me on Mondays With Marlo.
Her first word of advice? Wash your hands! You can get a virus simply by shaking someone's hand and then touching your face inadvertently. Dr. Snyderman advised carrying around hand wipes or hand sanitizer. If you're sick, she stresses that you should stay home from work, and if you must sneeze in public, do it into the corner of your elbow.
