Kelly Clarkson has found the man of her dreams and is planning a fall wedding, but the singer admits her road to love wasn't easy.
In the new issue of People magazine, Clarkson gushes about her fiance, Brandon Blackstock, and reveals why she finally chose the right guy.
"I was dating skinny jeans and I needed Wranglers," the 30-year-old explains, hinting that Blackstock -- a music manager (for Blake Shelton!) and the stepson of country crooner Reba McEntire -- fits the bill.
"I didn't know life could be this happy," Clarkson says as she relives the story of how -- and where -- they got engaged.
Back in December, the "Catch My Breath" singer was relaxing at home with her man in Nashville when, "Out of nowhere I just said, 'Thanks for being an awesome guy.' I've never been loved properly by a man, and I was just like, 'I thank you so much for that.'"
What she didn't realize was that Blackstock, 36, was about to get down on one knee!
"Not a damn clue!" Clarkson admits, joking, "If I did I would have worn something besides Uggs and a sweatshirt with no bra."
Now that's true love.
