Dangling Truck Pulled From Highway Overpass In Fort Lauderdale (VIDEO)

A scary accident in Fort Lauderdale Wednesday morning left one passenger dead -- and a bakery box truck dangling precariously over I-95.

Officials said incident began shortly before 6 a.m. when the Tracy Bakery truck jumped the overpass on-ramp onto State Road 84 and wedged against a large concrete column.

WSVN reports first responders were able to quickly rescue the driver with a ladder truck and transport him to hospital, but the box truck was left hanging over the side of the overpass with the unresponsive passenger still inside until tow trucks arrived.

Then, the truck was harnessed back onto the on-ramp, where it is no longer in danger of falling onto I-95. But the passenger, whose name has not been released, did not survive.

The accident left traffic backed up on I-95 for miles. Authorities are encouraging commuters to avoid the area altogether.
