Things were getting hot on "Nashville" for both Rayna and her husband Teddy. Unfortunately, the steam wasn't coming from them being together. Instead, Rayna spent the episode trying to talk to Deacon on the tour. He was technically working for Juliette, but it was still awkward seeing him. It was made even more awkward by the fact that he absolutely refused to talk to her, and barely looked at her.
When he finally cracked, it was to make it very clear how he felt about her. Out of nowhere, he came in for a passionate kiss. Was this why he was there? He certainly gave Juliette some good advice in encouraging her to reach outside the flashy box her career had put her in, but was it to try and turn her into Rayna 2.0?
While Deacon was letting Rayna know how he felt, Teddy was feeling betrayed. He didn't believe Rayna that she had no idea Deacon was going on tour. So he slept with Peggy.
He then traveled to meet Rayna on tour, saying he'd had an epiphany. While it seemed like he was going to recommit to their marriage, instead he asked for a divorce.
