In today's happy news, John Mayer is not sneaking behind Katy Perry's back with the gorgeous breakout star of "Girls," Allison Williams. Instead, Williams is such a good friend of Mayer and his superstar girlfriend Katy Perry, that Perry is taking her to the Grammy Awards on Sunday (Feb. 10)!

Williams, 25, went on Anderson Cooper's show "Anderson Live" yesterday and told him she'll be going to the Grammys with her good friend and "the hottest date," Ms. Perry. "She's nominated, as she should be. I can't wait to go. She’s awesome. She’s the best," said Williams. Perry, 28, is nominated in the Best Pop Solo Performance category for her song "Wide Awake."

Mayer and Williams' boyfriend, College Humor founder Ricky Van Veen, are good friends. Through the boys, Perry and Williams met and became friends themselves, showering each other with compliments whenever they get a chance. According to Us Weekly, just last December the foursome were spotted on a double date at The Lion in New York City, where there was "a small intimate dinner to celebrate Ricky's birthday."

But worry not, Katy's decision doesn't mean she and Mayer are in a bad place. On the contrary: in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Mayer, 35, said he is "quite happy" with his lady. The two were also rumored to be moving in together.
