Superstar Katy Perry will be accompanied to the Grammy's on Sunday night by Allison Williams, star of HBO's "Girls," -- take that John Mayer! -- but we're wondering if Allison has seen the house that Katy is considering leasing. Perry, sources told The Huffington Post, say this four-bedroom 6,500-square-feet Contemporary in the bird streets above the Sunset Strip is the one she has set her sights on.
It's been listed for sale since October and the current asking price is $6.295 million, but Perry only wants to lease it, not own it, a real estate source said. Sometimes, when listings don't sell quickly, owners become a little more receptive to the idea of renting.
As for Perry, maybe she's just taking a break from treating homes like revolving doors. Just prior to her 14-month marriage to Englishman Russell Brand, she spent $2.98 million on a New York City penthouse in Tribeca. She dumped it shortly after him for $2.625 million -- a loss. Together, she and Brand spent $6.5 million on an historic three-acre gated estate in Laurel Canyon with a 1920s fixer-upper on it -- emphasis on fixer-upper; unworthy of being the pop princess' personal domicile in its current state. We think she rents somewhere in West Hollywood, but since nobody likes stalkers, we'll leave it at that.
Perry is nominated in the Best Pop Solo Performance category for her hit "Wide Awake." Meanwhile, no word on how the kiss-and-tell singer, John Mayer, will be spending the evening.
